Easter Weekend

Easter basket

Hi friends!  How was your Easter weekend?

Ours was lovely, other than all 3 of us being sickies.  I’m pretty sure that it is due to allergies, but man is it bad!  I know we are not the only ones suffering.

Seriously.

As if simply stepping outside wasn’t enough, I decided to further enhance my symptoms by doing a little yard work.

I trimmed up a few shrubs, planted a few plants, and moved my deck plants back outside.  The allergy suffering was worth it because I love to be outside and I actually enjoy doing yard work.

Spring planting

We actually didn’t make it to church yesterday.  It was a really hard decision to make, but with Carsten’s nose as snotty as it was…is…we couldn’t leave him with the church nursery.  Also, he is now at the age where it would be impossible for him to sit still through a whole sermon.  So, we had our own little church at home which included a dance party to some worship music while mom cooked up some breakfast.

The Easter bunny visited while Carsten was napping.

Easter egg trail

He left a trail of eggs which led to the basket.

Easter

Do you see that yellow egg he’s holding in the picture above?  He was pretty much obsessed with it.  He didn’t really show interest in his basket.  Although, he is now loving the books and puzzle.

Easter

He especially did not not appreciate the bunny ears.

We then moved the party to the driveway in an attempt to take some fun pics with bubbles.

Unfortunately, the wind was blowing too fast and so the bubbles were a bust.

Still playing with his yellow egg.

Then, we tried to get some mommy and son pics.  This next pic is of me trying to give him a kiss.  I wish I could say he was laughing for joy, but really he was whining for me to put him down.

Easter

So then I thought that maybe we would have better luck with some Daddy and son pics.

Easter

Nope.

Then, I come across this picture and think…awww, this is a cute one…then, realize it is blurry.

Easter

So, this is as good as it is going to get!!!

Easter

Lol!!!

Have a great day everyone!

Aw, yay! It looks like you guys had a fun little Easter celebration, even if you were sniffling! I hope you start feeling better soon! Also, your flowers are so pretty! Trying my hand at gardening again this spring. We’ll see how it goes!

Thank you Jesse! We are beginning to feel a little better. The rain sure helps to wash the pollen away. Good luck with your gardening. It is certainly more enjoyable when the plants live! Haha!!! We all win some and lose some though so don’t get discouraged if you lose a few. I remember when I first began to play around with plants. I was obsessed with having a hibiscus tree. The first year I bought one and everything was going great. I had big beautiful blooms and then it got attacked by aphids. The next year, I tried again. I decided to place it in a different spot. Again, it thrived. Then, one morning, I walked out to my car to leave for work when I had to do a double take. DEER had eaten off every single leaf, flower, and bud!!! Oh my goodness! Needless to say, I gave up on the hibiscus. For now…

I actually love these pics! Carsten looks so cute in his little bow tie! He probably knew the yellow egg matched his tie and pocket square, so that’s why he liked it so much. Hee! I love getting out in the garden too. Looks like you planted some Dianthus? I love those! Oh, and I have to ask…where is your cute, cardigan from? I just did a post today about how much I love wearing light weight cardigans. :)

Thank you Lisa! These pictures will make great memories no matter what! Yes! I did plant some Dianthus. I’ve never planted them before, so I’m not sure how they will turn out. Last year, I planted Lantana in the same spot, but they got soooo big and attracted so many butterflies (which I love) and bees and wasps…not very good since it is the walkway to my front door. I guess we shall see!
I have no idea where I got the cardigan from. I’ve had it for a few years…probably bought it from TJMaxx! I love cardigans too! Can’t wait to see pictures of your beautiful garden!
