Faux Fur Winter Wreath

Faux Fur Winter Wreath

*Surprise at the end of post*

spring countdown

How exciting is it to read those words!  I know you all are just as ready as I am.

Well, since there are approximately 2 months until spring I wanted to share my winter wreath with you.  I picked up this faux fur ribbon at an after Christmas sale.  I had no idea what in the world I was going to do with it, but I just could not pass up it’s furry softness.

Isn’t it great?  I finally decided to make a wreath from it.

I picked up these plastic antler ornaments (also after Christmas sale) and I decided to brush them with a little gold paint.

Much better!!

While waiting for the paint to dry, I wrapped a craft wreath with the ribbon.  First, I pinned the ribbon into the wreath…then, began wrapping.

I attached the antlers to the wreath using floral wire and fishing wire.

Time to make the bow!  I found this ribbon at Micheals.  It’s a wide ribbon which is great for making big fluffy bows.

It’s hard for me to articulate how I made the bow, but maybe the pictures will explain better.

I then added a smaller bow on top of the bigger one.

Was that super confusing?  Trust me…my words would have been worse.

Once I attached the bow to the wreath (I used twine), I wrapped another  piece of fur ribbon around the bow to finish it off.

Faux Fur Wreath

I’m kind of loving it.  It’s pretty versatile.  It can be used indoors or outdoors…for fall, winter, whenever…on a door…on a mirror…on a window.

Do you like it?  If you do, then guess what?  I made two!  Yaaaay!  You can easily make one for yourself…oorrrrrr you could win one!   You guys, I seriously got so much joy out of the last giveaway with the pompom garland.  My heart swelled when the winner emailed me to let me know that she loved it.

As always, thanks so much for visiting!!

Holy cow! I love this wreath. I just found two antlers at a local antique shop. I have been trying to figure out how to display them in my new home. This is the perfect idea!

It would be nice to win yours so I can save my antlers for many other projects!
