Hi friends! Thank you all so much for the encouragement you’ve been sending my way regarding becoming a new mom! It is so appreciated!
I just wanted to share with you a cute idea I did while pregnant. I made little gift bags for my caregivers taking care of all of us during labor and delivery. I didn’t come up with this all by myself. I ran across a link on Pinterest and knew that I wanted to do the same. (Thank you The Busy Budgeting Mama) Plus, being a nurse myself, I always enjoy the little gestures that my patients or patient family members do for us. Even a simple thank you goes such a long way.
I tried to think of some little goodies that would be good for that busy caregiver. In their goodie bags are…
-Chocolate…because they make for good stress relievers.
-Bottled water…because hydration is a must.
-Granola bar…because not everyone loves chocolate.
-Fruit snacks…just because.
-Chocolate covered almonds…for a little energy boost.
-Starbucks gift card…for a big energy boost.
-Mentos…because you are talking to people ALLLL day long…fresh breath is appreciated.
-Lotion…because that hand sanitizer is a skin killer.
-Pen…because they always go missing!!!
I made these bags for less than $10. Nix the Starbucks card and they will be less than $5. I made 5 bags thinking that it would be plenty, when in reality, I came in contact with about 15 caregivers during my 3 day hospital stay. Oopsies. They all seemed thankful for their gifts and I was/am thankful for all they did/do. They have tough jobs!
I also decided to make my hubby a little gift bag for the hospital stay. He played a pretty big part in the whole pregnancy deal…if ya know what I mean…and handled the whole labor and delivery soooo well. He deserved a little something special.
Again…I stuffed his bag with some water and snacks. I also made him a simple “Daddy Doody Kit” just for a laugh…
I ordered this cute shirt from Zazzle. He wore it while we were in the hospital and everyone loved it!
Some manly mags…
A sweet card to welcome him into fatherhood…
It was so nice to see the look of surprise on his face. Made him feel special!
It’s nice to do something thoughtful for others to remind yourself it isn’t always about you. (Even though you are the one who endured hours of labor and then pushed a tiny human out of your hoohah!) 😉
What would you have added to the goodie bags??

Thank you sweet Nicole! WE are the blessed ones to have this little fella!
I think you’ve thought of everything for the goodie bags. What a neat idea! I love the shirt you got for your hubby too. Only one thing is missing from this post…a pic of that precious baby boy of yours! Hmm…maybe you posted one on Instagram…I’ll go check…hint, hint.

So thoughtful! I’m a nurse too and when I was working, I loved I when patients and family members brought us goodies! Remember when you had all that free time on your hands lol? Looks like you’re adapting to motherhood just fine
Thanks Christy! I am certainly trying my hardest to adapt! Whew…never thought I’d have a job harder than nursing!!!
Great idea! I love that you included the dads too!
