32 weeks pregnant

Holy moly.

Yikers.

Eeeeeek.

I just had my 32 week checkup and so far so good.  I shared my feelings of fear on Instagram yesterday.

Feelings of fear are perfectly normal.  I know this.  It isn’t like it’s an overwhelming fear.  It’s more of a looming fear that just sort of follows me everywhere.  Aside from fearing the obvious (the unknown), I am now getting worried that we won’t be ready when the time comes.  With only 8 weeks to go, we still haven’t completed the nursery, still haven’t completed our registry, still haven’t found a pediatrician…I could go on.  If there is anything that I have ever been fantastic at, it’s procrastination.  We are going to be in deep *poop* if the little guy decided to come early!

There is hope!

We do have pretty much all of the “big” stuff for the nursery.  It’s just a matter of putting it all together.

There is work to be done!

We attended a Newborn Essentials class and we will be going to a Childbirth class this weekend.  I was so proud of Craig.  He actually paid attention and answered all of the questions correctly.  Of course, there were those moments when he was sitting in class holding our “baby” when suddenly the baby kicks himself in the face.  He is such a goober sometimes.

This is our “baby” that we had to treat like it was the real deal the entire time.  Is it weird that I became a little attached to the lil’ fella?

We have started our search for a pediatrician.

Today, I am going to schedule a hospital tour.  I worked as an RN at the hospital for 6 years, but the maternity ward is a whole other world.  Plus, I think that it would be a good idea for Craig to see it.

I received my first batch of cloth diapers!  So excited about trying this out.  Some people haven’t responded well toward my passion for cloth diapering (including my baby daddy).  They think I’m craycray.  That’s okay though.  I’ve done my research and totally realize it is not the easiest way to do things, but there are many reasons that I at least have to try.  Would anyone like to share their experience with cloth diapering?

Stat time!

*Little dude should be weighing in at a little less than 4 pounds and should be around 17 inches long.

*Mom has gained 22 pounds.  Baby is growing fast!

*Can only fit into a few pre-pregnancy tights and the one pair of maternity jeans that I purchased.

*Experienced slightly puffy feet for the first time.

*Felt his hiccups for the first time…and now every day 2-3 times a day!

*Have officially lost the battle against stretch marks…boooooooo!

*He is still moving around like crazy!  It really is insane.  I always try to catch it on video, but it’s like he knows and suddenly stops…little rascal.

*Sleep is okay.  Sometimes I can’t fall asleep.  Once I do fall asleep, I stay asleep.  That’s a good thing.  Getting comfortable enough to fall asleep is like a game.  It starts will me getting comfy first.  Then, Carsten starts rolling around nonstop letting me know that he is clearly not comfy.  I finally give in and change my position, contorting my body to the most uncomfortable position imaginable and he eventually settles down…with a smirk on his face I’m sure. 😉

*My own activity is practically nonexistent along with motivation.  Craig and I have decided to officially cancel my Crossfit membership until after birth.  Between the round ligament pain, the sciatic nerve pain, and the inability to breath…walking to the mailbox is a chore.  You guys probably think I’m being dramatic, but I am dead serious.  I managed to take Bella for a 1 1/2 mile walk yesterday and I think I will try again today.

Big ‘ol bump!

*Reflux has been ridiculous, but so has been the food that my body in ingesting.  Research has officially directly correlated reflux to a baby with a head full of hair.  No big surprise there!  Who would be surprised that our 1/4 Mexican, 1/4 American, 1/4 Italian, 1/4 Russian baby might come out looking like chewbacca?

*Hormones=crazy lady.  Enough said.

I seem to be the walking poster child of a pregnant lady.  Experiencing all of the expected, but all in manageable moderation.  Seems like I have complained a lot, but I truly am enjoying this experience.  The husband has been the best too!

You are such a cute preggo lady!! I love your baby’s name too. :) Well, it’s been lots of years since I was preggo, but just so you know, I had two c-sections and LOVED them! So, if you find yourself having to have one, don’t worry one bit. :) I felt no pain and was up and walking that same day. I admire you for going the cloth diaper route. It’s so much better for the environment too. Can’t wait to see the finished nursery (and your sweet baby!) Take care!

Thank you Lisa and thank you for your little tidbit about the c-sections. I’d much prefer not to have one, but also understand that what needs to be done…needs to be done! Don’t admire my cloth diapering yet! Let’s see if I will actually stick with it and then we will admire together! Haha!
