Grace Like Rain

Grace Like Rain by Todd Agnew.  This song provided much comfort during a time of darkness.  A time when my heart was being smothered by anger.  Every breath of happiness was slowly slipping away from suffocation.

It’s amazing how quickly anger can spread…like a wild fire…from one person to the next.  Finally, the anger makes its way to yourself.  Then, it is completely uncontrollable.

In your heart, you know the only way to put the fire out.  Though, you continue to try to fight it all by yourself.  You think that with every tear that you cry…it will somehow make you feel better…somehow ease the flames.  Sometimes it does.  Sometimes it does not.

This time it does not.

The flame moves from your heart…to your mind…to your soul.  Guilt and sadness sets in, leading to inadequacy and worthlessness.  It is too much to bear and you finally give up…

…not to the flames.

To Jesus.

““But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me.””

2 Corinthians 12:9

Collapsing to the floor, you reach out to Him.  Almost immediately, there is an overwhelming sense of peace.  The love begins to pour down and before you know it…the fire is out.

Thankful for His grace you, once again, accept your imperfections.  Acknowledging that mistakes were made and unable to be changed, but knowing that all that you can humbly offer is your love and hope that it is enough…and that it is returned.

Grace

I know that this post is totally out of the norm for me and I could easily joke about raging pregnancy hormones, but other hearts were involved and that makes these feelings very real.  Things are not always rainbows and butterflies.  Consider this my way of “keeping it real”.

I am not sure how it began with me and ended with you…

…but maybe this song will flood into your heart and put out that fire.

“Grace, mercy, and peace will be with us, from God the Father and from Jesus Christ the Father’s Son, in truth and love.”

2 John 1:3

Thank you so much for visiting and wishing you all a happy day! :-)
