Hiya. Are any of you readers living in the North Georgia area loving this drizzly, foggy, overcast weather that we’ve been having?
No?
Neither am I. It’s so darn gloomy and it’s messing with my mood. I like to be outdoors and this yucky weather is preventing that from happening.
Oh well. Mother nature is what it is and perhaps we need days like this so that we can better appreciate the beautiful ones.
Thank goodness for Christmas trees, cute litte fake snowmen, yummy candles, and candy canes. Our home is all set for Christmas and I kind of don’t ever want to leave. It makes me THAT happy.
As I was playing around with some decorations last night, as most Christmas obsessed people do, I decided I needed to add some cute art. Something a little different. One tends to get a bit creative when it is late into the night and when a normal person sleeps. So, I wanted to show you a super easy and free way to add a unique piece of art made by you!
Well…free considering, if you are like me, then you have a plethora of old picture frames left over from your college days that have been in your give-away pile for the last 10 years because you have hoarding tendancies. Okay…okay…because you ARE a hoarder.
Oh…you also need to have a printer…and the internet. I am assuming that if you are reading this then you have access to the internet.
One last thing that you need is some fun craft paper. Get that stuff on sale! It’s crazy expensive. At least, I think so. $1 for a piece of paper? Give me a break. Wait till they are 50% off AND break out your coupons. I already had some paper on hand…of course I did.
So…taking into account that you also have all of this on hand…then this is a free project. If not…then I apologize…for I have told you a fib.
Wow. That was a long intro. Let me just get to the project already.
I started with an old frame.
Pick you out a pretty piece of craft paper and trace the matte onto the paper.
Cut out what you traced. Now you should have a fun new matte. Next up, decide what you want your art to say and use a free pic editor to make it. I used PicMonkey. They have some fun Christmas overlays and you can go crazy with it, or you can keep it simple like mine. Print that baby out and you are done!
Wait…put the print in the frame and THEN you are done.
That was mind blowing right?
Have fun with it…there is so much that you can do. So many different sayings out there. So many different frames. So many different paper designs.
If you don’t have time to make your own then feel free to use my ingenious design. Just click the image and save to your own computer. Then open under file, resize to your liking and print.
Have a great day you guys and thank you so much for visiting!
