Pregnancy

25 Weeks

25 weeks pregnant

They were not kidding when they said the 2nd trimester would fly by.

Seriously.

Is it weird to say that things are just now beginning to feel real?  Not sure why.  I mean, we heard a heart beat at 6 weeks…he waved to us with his little nub at 12 weeks…and he has been rockin’ & rollin’ since 16 weeks.

Maybe things are feeling real now because of the bump.  Oh…how I love this bump.  It makes me happy.

Maybe…because we only have 15 weeks left…yes.  I believe that is it.  Knowing that he will be here soon is both exciting and terrifying at the same time.  My husband is constantly saying, “I can’t wait for him to be here!”  Then, there is me.  I say, “I really am just enjoying the now.”

That’s not bad right?  I suppose I just feel it’s all moving so fast.  I know that life will never be the same…which isn’t a bad thing.  I am just enjoying these moments of pregnancy and my me time with Craig.

Onto the stats!

*Weighing in at about 1.5 pounds and 13.5 inches long

*Moving around madly.  I’m pretty sure I’m growing a kick boxer…or maybe a monkey on meth.

*This week his capillaries are forming and filling with blood and air sacs are forming in his lungs.  Baby making is so cool!

*Total weight gain so far is 10lbs!

*Reflux sux…but I’ve learned how to control the round ligament pain…hooray!

*Sleeping isn’t as glorious as it has been.  I find myself waking up several times on my back and having to roll over.

*Been craving green smoothies lately…which is A-OK!

*Trying to stay active.  Still attempting to Crossfit, but mostly just a lot of hiking and running.  Can’t get enough of the outdoors these days.  Can you blame me?

I shared all of these pictures on Instagram.  On a side note, I am obsessed with Instagram right now.  I find so much inspiration on there.

More of the ever growing bump…

The above pic was taken in PA.  A sweet man at the airport offered to lift my luggage because he “could see that I was carrying a sweet angel”.  Amazing how one sentence from a complete stranger can make your day…or week.

Does anyone else find it awkward to take serious pics?  Seriously.  Most of my pics turn out like this…

Not sure about that one in the upper right hand corner..

Let’s talk nursery.  Yikes!  I seriously have noooooooooo idea which direction I am going with this.  None.  Pray for me.

Speaking of praying.  I’ve been spending alot of time doing it.  My heart has been a bit heavy lately and I’m really trying to sort things out.  I’ve been thinking alot about how thankful I am for this pregnancy.  How smooth it has been and how truly blessed we are.  So many people out there don’t really appreciate the process of pregnancy.  I was once that person.  Pregnant people were everywhere.  Kids are everywhere.  What’s the big deal?  Now that I am pregnant and can fully appreciate it, I can’t help but to think about those who cannot conceive.  I also think about those who have and have lost…time and time again.  I pray for that couple who long to add to their family.  I pray for comfort, understanding, and for patience.

Well…this was an emotional roller coaster of a blog post wasn’t it?  Oops.

Thank you so much for following me on this journey!  Let me know if you are currently in the same shoes…I love to meeting new prego friends :-)

I truly loved being pregnant and yes, it is so easy to take it for granted. I’ve had a total of 3 miscarriages over the years which made my pregnancy with Trey that much more special! You are a beautiful mom-to-be, glad you are continuing to feel well. You’re scenery shots are amazing!! Red Top? Hope to see you soon!

Nicole…I remember talking to you about those miscarriages at the MECP2 event. I can only imagine what you felt and went through. It is one of those things that our minds will never understand. You seem to me to be a very strong person and you have a beautiful family now!
And yes! The 2 pics on the left are from Red Top and the 2 on the right are from Pine Mtn. :-)

I’ve heard a lot of people say that about their first and second pregnancies. It’s amazing how pregnancies can be so different. Thanks so much for the comment and you are so sweet for following along <3
