Pregnancy

16 Weeks

16 weeks

Ummm…wow.  Where in the world did the last 4 weeks go?  In my sunroom…that’s where.

Seriously though, time is such a funny thing.  The first 12 weeks of pregnancy seemed to really drag by and I am sure that it is because we were waiting until we were able to make the big announcement.  Seemed to take forever.  Now, the cat’s out of the bag and time is a flyin’.

Weeks 12-14 were pretty much amazing.  I got my energy back and no longer felt like a sloth on muscle relaxers.  Got so many things done around the house.  Was working out 3-4 days a week.

Me.

The last two weeks have been a different story.  I’ve been getting these weird headaches that really knock me off my feet.  I don’t mean to sound like such a baby, but when your head is throbbing nonstop…it’s all you can think about.  I hate taking medicine, but I finally took some Tylenol.  Didn’t work.  I made sure to drink tons of water.  Didn’t work and feeling like a water balloon didn’t help matters.  I used my little head and neck massager that my mom got me years ago.  It usually helps to relieve tension, but not this time.  So…I basically laid around…useless…sloth-like.  Poor Craig had to fend for himself a couple of nights for dinner.

Back to working out.  I’ve only been to Crossfit twice in the last two weeks.  Unfortunately, our “box” is not air conditioned and to be quiet honest…I just can’t take the heat.  I’m not really interested in baking the babe.  Eww…that sounded gross, but your body’s temperature is pretty important and I don’t want to take any chances of causing any harm.  I have been trying to run a little in the evenings.  I walk my dogs too.  That counts as a Crossfit substitute right?

Perhaps I shall try this…

Perhaps not.

I know what you’re thinking…”Why don’t you just wake up earlier and go to the morning classes when it is cooler?”

Really?

Whatever.

I actually did consider this, but then I thought…You know what?  It is going to be a very long time before I am going to be able to sleep in again.  You better believe that I am going to enjoy these last 5 months of waking up whenever I please.  I just like sleep and that is that.  While we are on the topic of sleep…no problems there.  Aside from dreaming of having disgustingly massive boobs and sausage legs, sleep is good.

Clearly I am not subconsciously concerned of my changing body.  Not at all.

Cravings?  Craigy-poo has apparently been telling people I have been craving pickles.  Not true.  I think HE has been craving them.  I went through a Wendy’s vanilla frosty phase.  Most recently I’ve been on a Honey Nut Cheerios kick.

No weight gain at all yet.  I 100% believe this has to do with the lack of Crossfit in my life.  I believe that whatever I have gained in baby weight is being masked by my loss of muscle weight.  That’s my theory and I’m sticking to it.

I do believe that I have officially entered into the gray area of “Is she pregnant or is that a beer belly?”

Yay.

Check out my bump!

Am I showing yet?

I kidd…I kidd.  This picture was taken years ago using David’s Bridal fake baby bump.  Their baby bump has cellulite for sure!

Apparently, our little pooky is the size of an avocado this week.

I know this must sound weird…but I am already feeling movement.  Not much.  Sometimes it’s just a quick poke and that is all.

Let’s see, what else?

This is what the little monkey looks like right now.

CRAZY!  Still bewildered that this whole process is taking place inside of me.  This week Baby Chandler is growing bones in his/her ears and is beginning to hear us.

Craig has been so supportive and very patient with me.  I haven’t experienced much moodiness, but when I do he is ever forgiving.  Bless him.

Bella has been taking advantage of lap time…

I imagine when the belly gets bigger it will look more like this…

Yes…there is a dog under that pillow…and computer.  #belladontcare

Things that I am looking forward to:

Finding out whether this munchkin has a vajayjay or a 5th baby appendage.

What?

All in all we are very much enjoying this chapter in our lives.  Praying daily for healthy growth of our baby and spiritual preparation for this journey we are about to embark upon.

Now for the real bitty baby bump…

So sweet! This the “I feel crappy, my boobs hurt, I’m moody, and no one can see that I’m pregnant yet!” Phase. As soon as you start to pooch out a bit more obviously, you can do/say/eat whatever you want and you’re instantly forgiven! You look amazing so far…enjoy! :)

Sorry you haven’t been feeling well! Headaches are seriously the worse. I can hardly function when I have one. I am impressed you are still doing some xfit! I have been thinking more and more about how I need to get back into it. Perhaps one day:)

Hope you have had a nice long weekend! Happy Labor Day!

    Cheers,
    Alyson

Thank you so much Alyson!! Headaches have been much better since I wrote this post. Crossfit is actually beginning to get a little more difficult due the round ligament pain that is starting. If it’s not one thing, it’s another! Ha! I understand though that it is so hard to get back into if you take any time off! Thank you so much for your sweet comment!
