Operation Organization…Part 1…complete. The hub’s home office has completely been transformed to the wifey’s craft room. How exciting is that?
Then again…I am easily amused and so it really does not take too much to entertain me. I will admit that when I started this project I became borderline obsessed with it. I basically worked on it until I finished it. Just a forewarning, this post is picture friendly.
We start with the before.
Wow.
The room itself was very dark and so my goal was to brighten it up a bit without having to do anything too dramatic…like…repainting…buying new furniture…or adding a window.
This became my “accent” wall. I thought about adding board and batten to this wall, but my mind quickly went lazy on me.
I made the canvas myself.
I know…
not all that impressive.
Seriously…had no idea or vision for this. All that I knew was that I wanted it to say “In my happy place” and this is what I ended up with.
Kudos to anyone that hand paints words…or anything for that matter.
My hands were shaking so much the whole time. Truly wasn’t happy with it when I finished, but it took me so darn long to paint it that I decided to make it work!
Men.
*snickers*
You can see closed closet doors here…
…wander what would fall out of there if they were opened?
The closet is clean too???
I know…I know…
I amaze myself sometimes.
As you can see, some of Craig’s office stuff got left behind.
Free printable:
Bookshelf before.
Added some cute wrapping paper to the back.
Free printable:
Adore.
They can be found at Uncommon Goods.com.
Guess that’s a question geared toward my crafty readers…
you special readers can find your free printable at Missie Krissie’s.
Made my labels using PicMonkey.
Saw this beauty at HomeGoods and had to have. I promise the color is not as it seems in the pic. It’s sort of a salmony color.
Mmm…salmon.
I’m hungry now.
Can’t wait for it to warm up so that I can leave these doors open!
Here in Georgia, spring lasts for a week and then I’ll have to close the doors because it will be too hot!
Just kidding.
No I’m not.
Found these frames at Michael’s for $4.99.
$4.99!!
Rug found at Garden Ridge.
P.S. Would not recommend changing a light fixture by yourself. Was getting so frustrated I was about ready to jump off the ladder head first.
Kidding.
No I’m not.
Just could not leave that darn canvas alone…had to add some ruffles.
(Actually, it’s just burlap ribbon hot glued in a pleated pattern 😉 )

Hehe…glad to put a smile on your face! Thanks for the comment!
I sooo wish I had a spare room to use for storing stuff like this. Our old dumping space just became my daughter’s big girl room so now we have no dumping spaces left! I’m sure my parent’s are getting sick of me leaving bits and pieces in their garage!
Love your new room. The colour scheme is especially great.
xoxo
Thank you for stopping by Kristine!
WOW! This is awesome!! I hope you stop by to share to my party- http://atozebracelebrations.com/2013/02/link-party-9.html
So glad you like Nancy and thank you for the invite!
WOW girl – AMAZING after! I love the coral throughout the room – and the happy place wall art! It would be my happy place too! Everything is so lovely – your new chair is adorable!! Pinning!
Thank you so much for your comments! I made sure those “Before” pics were extra ridiculous! Ha! Oh, and thank you for pinning!
Haha…if I can do it…you can do it!
Your craft room looks great! I think your sign is really cute! Love the medallions on it too. I’m also building a craft room in our basement. I can’t wait till it is done.
I’d love it if you would share this at “What We Accomplished Wednesday,” at Green Willow Pond. It is live right now. Have a great week!
Hugs,
Deborah
Thanks so much for stopping by and for the invite! Can’t wait to see your new room!
Aaaawww! Thank you so much!
I love this office. I’m so used to putting a desk facing the wall. I love your idea. Also love the chandelier. And the curtains.
Can you believe the desk was actually my hubby’s idea???
Gracious!
It turned out surperb. I love the color inspiration piece, simply adorable. The way the no sew curtains compliment the wall with the doors is awesome so I’m definitely stealing this idea. Great job Luisa!! Love love love it! And the Chair? AWESOME!!!
Thank you so much for your sweet comment Sunday! So glad you like!
Love the new room!! Great pops of color throughout. That chair is amazing!! Wish I had an entire room for my crafts but I must make do with a corner in our basement.
Thanks for once again inspiring me to look around the house and see what I can improve and make beautiful!
Thanks so much Nicole
Oh I just love how it turned out! It is gorgeous! I love your color inspiration and the chair is so awesome! I also love your sun room! Julia @ www.juliakendrick.com

Love! I bet it is easy to get inspired in that craft room of yours! I really need to do this. lol You did a fantastic job. I am also lovin’ your sexy chair. 😉
Thank you so very much. Sometimes I just go in there and sit…and stare…haha!
Where did you purchase the desk from…it is exactly what I have been searching for. By the way great job with the room!
Hi Nina! The desk came from Haverty’s about 2 1/2 years ago! Thanks so much for stopping by!
Thank you!!
Hahahaha!! Well I’m so glad!
Thank you for your kind words
Thank you so very much! I am sooooo lucky to have this space…for now…the hubs might take it back over…haha!!
I love your craft room makeover, especially love the colors that you went with! I am in the process of brainstorming something up for my “craft room”, more like a small space for crafting! I would love for you to come check out my inspiration post!

Good! I’m glad and good luck with your space!
Thank you so much! I just followed you back :-)))) Looking forward to your posts!
Lovely! I love your “carnival wall” and the way you’ve organized the shelves. And that chair is fabulous!
Haha…thank you so much!
Thank you very much Morgaine and thank you for the invite!!
Thank you
Thank you so much for stopping by and thank you for the invite!
My husband created a Craft corner for me in our garage. I’m working on fixing in up now. I want to do banners, like yours, too. I can imagine that my husband will call it a carnival too. lol Your dog reminds me of my childhood dog, Buffy. She was a terri-poo and when she got a haircut she looked like your dog. We’d call her Fifi and she’d want to go outside and roll in the mud. I love your chair!!! and the colors you did your room. Thanks for sharing the inspiring photos.
Haha! Thank you Katharine…so funny…I used to have a black toy poodle when I was a child and her name was Fifi!
Very nice, love the colors! I’ll be so happy when I get my craft room pulled together. I’m making progress, but it is slow. Very slow! I gotta tell you the canine gives it a whole lot of extra cuteness. 😉
Don’t be fooled by her cuteness…she can be a real firecracker sometimes! Good luck with your room and thank you for stopping by!
Oh yes…it is! Except my hubs wants to take the space back…what exactly does that mean??? 😉
Wow! This looks great! I’m so jealous of your craft space. My stuff is everywhere right now because we don’t really have a defined space for it. I’m hoping to take over a corner of our finished basement until we move into a house where I can have a dedicated space (a requirement for our next house!).
Thanks so much for stopping by and for your comment!
Thank you Suzanne! I am so far
Love your sign! Lettering can be tricky. I actually do better with a paintbrush than with a pen!!
Seriously…that lettering was the worst! Thank you for stopping by
Thank you Carol
Thank you so much Roeshel. So glad you like!
Thank you for posting the before pictures. It makes me feel better that your office was the dumping room. Mine is too. Soon, I get to move into a brand new craft room in our bonus room! Your room gave me some great inspiration. I love your chair and your printables. Great job!
Oh man…that dumping room was no joke. Worked my butt off in there but it was definitely worth it!! Thank you for visiting me
Yaaay!! Still can’t believe that I have actually inspired anyone…but I’m so glad! Good luck in your space!
This is absolutely AMAZING. How wonderful that you showed all the before pictures also. I have a room I can makeover for a craft/sewing room. What an inspiration you have been. The painting is just wonderful, too. PINNED! I’ll need to get back here when I start the redo. AND would love to have you link this post to What to do Weekends Party. Best wishes, Linda

Heehee…come on over!
Your salmon color is to die for! I LOVE it! Your craft room is pretty and very functional. I look forward to getting a room where I can spread my stuff out and leave it for the next day. Thank you for the inspiration. I mentally hide these treasures away for “that” day Blessings, Jenny
Thank you so much Jenny. I really am lucky to have this extra space and I hope that you are able to get yours soon!
This is such an incredible space. I am in love with the chair it is so perfect.

What a transformation – great work! I love the finished product! The best part is all the small touches – it really makes the room great. Love the wrapping paper transformation on the office furniture, and of course the chair is to die for! I’m sure the room will inspire many fantastic crafts and creations!

Good luck with yours!
This looks incredible! I would love for you to join the Pinworthy Projects link party! http://www.atkinsondrive.com/pinworthy-projects-link-party-week-10/
Thank you and thanks for the invite!
Okay, where do I start? Let’s see…first of all, let me say that my craft room looks WAAAAY worse than yours did. Honestly. I love pretty much everything about this room, but my favorites are: your idea for storing ribbon in the closet (pinning it), the paper you added to the back of the bookshelf, the creative adult quote (pinning), the tree cups, the button jars, the salmon chair (yum!) and the pillow sitting on it. It all looks fantastic together. Great job!! So glad I saw you over at the It’s Overflowing Link Party.
Debbie
Debbie! Thank you so much for sharing this with me…truly it means so much ;-))))))
Oh Chessa! It does, it does!!

:-)))))) Thank you very much Karhryn!
Holly…thank you for sharing the love <3
Oh my gosh Luisa, this room is super cute! Love, love the color combo! We are finishing our basement and I am putting in a craft room. Can’t wait till I get to this point. I did Batten board on one wall so even though you decided not to do it I’m thinking we think alike. Love the stripe and the canvas is fab! Love the chair also. I have one similar from Pier 1 in my sewing room. It is aqua with a chenille back. I was like you. Saw it, fell in love, and had to have it! Great organizing and I will be hopping back for another peek when I get to start the fun decorating. I have a link party, Share Your Cup Thursday. I would love if you shared some time! Now following.
hugs,
Jann
Aaaww…thank you all of your sweet comments Jan! You’re the best!

What a wonderful change! I love how you spent a very minimal amount of money and made most of your changes without paint. Looks like a brand new room! Nice job:-)
